Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: New information from recent scan

Once again, more info from the recent Tetsuya Nomura interview with Famitsu regarding the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 2 – Final Mix+.

  • There’s more than one type of Mushroom Heartless in the game, although the Organization ones are the main ones. The Organization Mushrooms will all have numbers on them, and have to be fought to entertain them (Mushrooms from the original had to be entertained as well by doing things such as casting fire on them to heat them up).
  • There’s a new, harder difficult mode called ‘Serious Mode’.
  • The CoM Organization members can be fought in KH2 Final Mix in the Coliseum – apparently all these new battles will be harder than Sephiroth!
  • The Roxas battle is apparently very tough, so obviously the picture showing him with only two health bars mustn’t have been the real one.
  • Christmas Sora is present simply because… Nomura wanted to try it! Apparently, Goofy and Donald will have Christmas costumes too.
  • Also, sadly, the scene at the end of the recent trailer showing an Organization member with the knight from the Sunset Horizons secret movie may be removed from the final game because it may confuse people too much…

New Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ scan

Another new scan today, courtesy of G-Zone. Unfortunately this doesn’t reveal anything really important, but it looks good nevertheless.

Basically, the only thing of any real interest mentioned here is that Hollow Bastion and Twilight Town have been expanded to ‘realise their full potential’. Hopefully this means there’s been big changes, not just a few extra areas.

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: New information from recent Famitsu!

More translations have been done on the recent Famitsu article in which Nomura revealed the existance of other Kingdom Hearts projects.

The article basically delves into some more points regarding Final Mix+, specifically RE:Chain of Memories. Nothing too big, but most of it was new anyways. Following is a list of new information that was talked about:

  • Basically, RE:CoM is still structured around the same premise as it’s original GBA counter-part – in other words, there are different areas used for different battles, and the floors of the Castle are still made up of rooms that will lead to story events and boss fights. The leveling-up and EXP system are therefore very similar, if not the same.
  • Card stocking returns, expanded so that using significant combos you are able to tie in multiple reaction commands.
  • Organization Mushroom-type Heartless aren’t related to the real Organization XIII in any way – they’re just imposters.
  • Nomura liked the (Japanese) voice acting of the Organization XIII in the original KH2 so much, he wants to try and out-do it in RE:CoM.
  • The knight shown at the end of the Final Mix+ trailer (also from the secret ending of KH2), is not Sora or Roxas – he is related to an already existing character though!
  • The scenes we’ve seen of Zexion with Soul Eater are just him using illusionary powers to immitate it. His real weapon hasn’t been revealed yet!
  • The Final Mix+ release date will be announced soon.
  • Also, I’ve forgotten to mention in recent news Sora’s new Drive Form exclusive to KH2′s Final Mix – basically, it resembles his original KH1/CoM costume, with some slight alterations, yet it is very powerful! More news as we have it.

Disney opens Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ teaser, new scan

As I reported yesterday, a new scan has shown up with more scenes from the Roxas battle in The World That Never Was. Unfortunately, the strange manga insert I mentioned is still present.

    kh2fm_8a.jpg

If a version without the manga shows up, you’ll be the first to know!

The scan also reveals an interesting piece of info regarding Roxas himself – it seems he only has one extra bar of health, while strangely, in the recent trailer he had heaps, in the realm of Sephiroth’s amount. The trailer was probably made when the developers were messing around with the battle and it hadn’t been completed yet.

In other news, Disney have opened up their official teaser site for Final Mix+, which doesn’t really include anything new yet. If anything else becomes available, we’ll tell you.

New Kingdom Hearts projects to be revealed mid-2007!

    Kingdom Hearts 3

Nomura’s apparently spilled the beans as of yesterday, after months of silence, speaking up on new Kingdom Hearts projects in Famitsu. Note: Plural.

Word is that in a new interview with Famitsu Weekly Nomura said that in “mid-2007″ he would reveal new Kingdom Hearts projects. Not one, but multiple. He also states that there’s more than video games to be announced – does this mean the rumoured anime is going ahead?

Along with this, he talks of “big movements” in the Kingdom Hearts series at the moment – perhaps Square and Disney have finally signed and sealed the deal on Kingdom Hearts 3?

(Apparently scans will be available soon, until then check the article out on 1UP for proof and more info.)

In other news, IGN have recently revealed that readers have voted Kingdom Hearts 2 their game of the year. Surprise aside, Kingdom Hearts 2 actually won first place in the Top 10 PS2 Readers’ Picks of 2006, beating out Final Fantasy 12. It was award second in the Top 10 PS2 Sellers of the Year!

Lastly, a new scan has been found online with some new shots from the Roxas vs. Sora battle, but the only copy I can find has some shoddy manga pic paste on to it (don’t ask me why…). I’ll search for a real version of the scan, if I can’t find one by tomorrow I’ll just use this one instead for the time being.
