New scan from Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: Reverse Rebirth

Nothing really new, just another scan depicting a Reverse Rebirth boss battle from RE:Chain of Memories – in this case, Riku vs. Vexen.

The scan gives detailed information on all the aspects of the HUD (Heads-Up-Display), and reveals the location and details regarding the battle.

Hopefully this won’t be the last we’ll see of the game for the year, seeing as news is pretty much dead at the moment.

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: Jump Festa updates

Some more news has arisen from the now winding-down Jump Festa. It seems we won’t be seeing the Final Mix trailer or footage from the RE:CoM demo any time soon, as they were shown/played in closed theatres.

New versions of recent scans have been found, revealing a couple more images of Sora’s Christmas Town costume, as well as some scenes from RE:CoM.

Apparently in the Final Mix trailer a scene is shown near the end with a hooded Organization member communicating with a certain knight from a certain secret trailer – the member calls this knight his ‘friend’, although from what I can tell he uses the term sarcastically.

Word on the street is that in the trailer there are also a couple of scenes showing Disney characters in worlds that aren’t their’s! Mention was of Ariel and another character together, as well as some characters being shown in worlds other than their own.

Hopefully some of the trailer pieces will be sorted out soon.

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: Jump Festa here!

As Jump Festa gets closer, more news, rumors and information about the game explode into madness. There seems to be a map of the event online here and provides areas on where gaming zones are held. But due to the location of the zones, it is believed that most of the action may be held behind closed doors.

Other information about the Kingdom Hearts series is to be released at Jump Festa, such as books, games and card sets. Of course Kingdom Hearts 2: FM+ shall be a large expose in in the field. Rumors of what is to held in the course of the weekend have been confirmed by a new Jump scan.

- In RE:Chain of Memories’ Reverse Rebirth chapter, playing as Riku you get to battle Zexion.
- Sora will now be able to change to a Christmas Costume when going back and fourth though Halloween Town and Christmas Town.
- The Sora vs. Roxas battle has finally been placed back in the game.
- Mushroom-type Heartless will be added into the game.
- Zexion’s weapons are visible in the image, but are too small to discern. Probably these will be shown properly at the event.

Kingdom Hearts 2 takes home Spike TV award

The Spike TV Video Games Awards were held last night in Los Angeles, with Kingdom Hearts 2 and Rachel Leigh Cook in particular taking home one award.

Rachel Leigh Cook won the award for ‘Best Supporting Female Performance’ for her role as Tifa in everyone’s favourite, Kingdom Hearts 2. While far from the biggest award of the evening, Rachel was able to beat out performances from Elisha Cuthbert (24), Brittany Murphy (Getting Up) and Lynda Carter (Oblivion).

Unfortunately, the only other award Kingdom Hearts 2 was nominated for was, at the end of the day, a no-go, with Best RPG being won by Oblivion. All the other games nominated for the award were by Square, and it would have been good to see a victory from any of them (particularly after the large support for Final Fantasy 12), but alas, American games once again come out the victor at American awards ceremonies.

Hopefully we’ll see more support from Kingdom Hearts in any other coming awards ceremonies where it sees a nomination – with Final Mix+ on the way we can only hope!
