Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: New info and high-def pictures

Just a small update, thanks to KH-Vids we’ve been able to access new information translated from recent scans, and a few high-quality pics from Famitsu’s website.

  • Aparently, the Organization Mushroom-type Heartless will have abilties similar to the real Organization – this most likely means that Organization Mushroom #1 will have abilities similar to Organization member #1 (Xemnas), etc.
  • Limit Form makes old KH1 abilties such as Dodge Roll, Ragnarok and Strike Raid possible, and also includes reaction commands that lead to more powerful secondary attacks.
  • Apparently the room in which Xemnas and the knight were conversing in in the Jump Festa trailer is called the ‘White Room’… but that was Namine’s room in the old mansion in Twilight Town, so the name of this room will probably be changed.
  • In KH2 Final Mix, doing battle with Marluxia will be much harder than in RE:CoM.
  • More news regarding this as we have it.

    As for those new pictures:

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: Final Mix+ pre-order bonus!

For those fans who have already pre-ordered their copy of Final Mix+ in Japan, it seems you’ll be receiving quite a bonus…

Currently only verified for Japanese pre-orders, you’ll be receiving a hard cover book/guide entitled “Kingdom Hearts: Another Report”. The guide will basically go into detail on subjects such as the game’s visuals, characters, worlds and storyline, and explain them in ways we haven’t seen before. Needless to say it would definitely be a great collector’s item!

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: Pre-order gift for Final Mix+?

In the newest issue of Famitsu, Nomura has commented on the possibility of a ‘reservation privilege’ for those who pre-order the game in Japan.

Most notable in these new scans are the battles with Organization memebers, Lexaeus and most notably Marluxia. These aren’t the battles to be featured in RE:CoM though – these are the battles in the ‘White Place’ (or ‘White Palace’ – translation still pending). This new area in KH2 Final Mix is where Sora can battle the now dead CoM Organization members, but how/if this fits into the story is still unsure.

As for the pre-order gift, more news will be featured if this goes ahead, but apparently Nomura is still mulling over it.

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: New scans reveal Limit Form!

New scans from V-Jump have finally revealed the coveted new Drive Form, exclusive to Final Mix+ – behold, Limit Form.

Based on Sora’s original KH1/CoM outfit, this Form allows you to use many techniques that were originally exclusive to KH1, most notably Dodge Roll!

While nothing was said on how to unlock the new Drive Form, it would make sense if this was the ‘unlockable’ Nomura spoke of if players have a completed RE:Chain of Memories save on their memory cards. In other words, complete RE:CoM, get to a certain part or find/unlock a certain item in RE:CoM, save and go over to KH2 FM – you’ll most likely find your new Limit Form drive is now unlockable somehow.

Also notice the new screenshots from both FM and RE:CoM.

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: RPGamer reports on NA Final Mix+

Yet another large publication is jumping aboard the North American bandwagon – respected RPG media site, RPGamer, is following in EGM’s tracks.

You can view the article here.

The article cites it’s source as the recent article from EGM though, but it is interesting to see the usually careful RPGamer accepting EGM’s report. Perhaps there’s more truth to it than originally thought…

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: 1UP says Final Mix+ is a go in NA!

After the recent EGM snippet (see below), 1UP, EGM’s father-site, has supposedly comfirmed the North American Fall release date.

    Taken from this page here:

And for the Square Enix fans, look forward to Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix, previously thought to be a Japan-only upgrade, to arrive here in the fall, complete with the Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories 3D remake. That’s one hell of an “extra.”

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix: More evidence towards an NA Final Mix+ release

It seems that EGM has also jumped on the Final Mix+ American-release bandwagon, with their newest issue mentioning a ‘Fall’ release date.

Sadly, Fall is actually the Japanese release, so it is highly unlikely it will mysteriously make it stateside within the two months following that. As for the magazine itself, EGM has a very bad history in this department, with many rumours and lies published among it’s pages regarding Square-Enix – remember, EGM are the one’s responsible for the constant rumours of a Final Fantasy 7 remake.

Nevertheless, have a look at this scan and decide for yourself: are you going to trust EGM, or will you wait for more evidence?

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ looks to North America

A recent issue of American’s PlayStation Magazine (PSM), has divulged some interesting info on a possible North American release for Kingdom Hearts 2 – Final Mix+.

Listing their top games of 2006, Kingdom Hearts 2 makes an appearance in seventh, and with the explanation of the game came this interesting tidbit:

“Get set for more Kingdom Hearts… and we’re not talking KH3. Square-Enix is taking their Game Boy Advance game, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, beefing it up, and bringing it to the PS2 in full 3-D. It will be included with a special “Final Mix+” of Kingdom Hearts II, and is expected to come Stateside, though no date is announced.”
