Kingdom Hearts: Coded (Mobile)
As many of you already know, Square has indeed revealed not one, not two, but THREE new hand-held Kingdom Hearts titles, all of which surmount to the new project we have heard so much about.
Rather than trying to describe all of these at once, we’ve descided to tackle each title one-by-one and explain it to you in pieces. We’ll start with the insignificant title – Kingdom Hearts: Coded is for Japanese mobile phones (Western phones aren’t anywhere near powerful enough to handle it). The game centres around a digitial Sora in Destiny Islands and the Disney Worlds beyond, awakening for the first time and going on a new journey that supposedly never happened.
Timeline-wise, the story actually begins after KH2, with Jiminy making his way back to Disney Castle. Upon arrival, he looks through his diary and notices a quote he himself never wrote there: “We have to go back, to heal their pain.” After showing this to the King, he transforms Jiminy into digital data and sends him on a mysterious journey through the eyes of Sora, explaining mysterious events of the past that link into KH1′s storyline, and also the King’s past.
A trailer was shown in the Closed Mega Theater (pictured below), which basically showed the game’s intro (comprised of what I mentioned above) and some scenes with Sora on Destiny Islands. Battle scenes are shown, which suggest the game revolves around a puzzle theme, but with new combos and the like for Sora to use. The trailer ends by showing us the scene from one of the recent images with Sora and Mickey in Traverse Town. Mickey says “On that day, I was here… Let us speak truthfully.” and the video ends.
No word on when Japan would see the title, but like Before Crisis and the upcoming FF Agito 13, don’t expect to ever see it leave the country. As for the development team, Nomura is officially directing, and Hajime Tabata (director of Before Crisis and the critically acclaimed Crisis Core) is co-directing.
Please note that I have cropped all images myself from the logo one-sheet and the recent Famitsu issue. I have made sure that all media is related to the correct title.

I was afraid they were going to do this. Hrn, now I’ll have to look it up on wikipedia just to find out what happens
well, if they only put it on a mobile phone, i dont really think the story line is that important at all
i hope so. I more into the story on the DS one…
im more into both, you can all expect EXTREME excitemnet from me for a long time, SAIX MAN!
How are we going to be able to place this one on the US if our Cell phones are not that good?
thats the point dude, we wont, this game will not be for us in teh US and thats just how it goes.
Just like Before Crisis, Dirge of Cerberus – Lost Episode and Agito XIII. Nowhere outside Japan, sorry guys.
Not much of a loss in my books, besides, i think that more info couldve been gotten from final mix, and if you found out, we got all the info and the vids from other sites and such.
Yeah, I could agree with that one Reza.
I think if they ever bring Coded to America, it’ll be some kind of downloadable internet version.
You could probably play it on the internet if you like, illegally get it. But legally, have to disagree with you temp, soirry
hehe
wow….3 new games, and not one is really centered around Sora, darn it, i wonder if Namine will be in any of them? possibly the DS one, ok so we all gotta get psp’s now, hey anyone have any idea how imoportant this one for Japan is? will it go farther inyo Sora and Kairi’s story?
I’m not really clear on what it’s about myself, but I think it has something to do with Jiminy cricket, Mickey, and data. Oh, and it’s all in the past.
Its all about the stuff in jiminys journal, so its almost like a rerun on kh2 i think
And KH1.
But it’s supposed to go to the reeal world to. THat’s what the “debugging” is for. To switch back to the real world or someting like that.
*real world too.*
…see what I mean?
Illegal or legal……..I dun care….I wannah play Coded……..
…..dude, you will care.
KH for the Mobile phone sounds…interesting! I like it would be pretty COOL!!!
Not sure if anyone else knows this, but KH alreayd made a game for us mobile phones, i got it, not a very good game, has nothing to do with the story or anything or clears anything up at all, it was kinda like a detour story, not good at all
yeah, kh1 is remade for the mobile phone, i have it as well, its pretty much just a redo of the first one in case the story wasnt ok for some fans, but it really has nothing to do with anytihng, its just kinda there.
is it easy to play?
I think were thinking about different things luna, cause the one i have wasnt a remake. It was basically 4 levels, and the story i guess was finding a potion to heal sora, so it wasnt a remake at all, but like i said, must be different. And for me, no it wasnt easy to play
Well if your phone is small?
no. its just was the whole control thing, dont like playing games without the analog stick, feels weird
I know wat ya mean, do think they should not make it for the phone?
i dont think it would be fair if we got it on some kind of handheld or system and japan got it for there phone, then again, i dont think its fair to see that they get final mix and we dont
yeah, were thinking of differant things, the one i have you get to run around all the worlds, but the story is differant, theres no fight with riku, and thers nothing to do with the princesses of heart.
Of thats not the real version
I never heard about those previous cell phone games. Hmm. They don’t sound very good.
I hope Kindom Hearts coded will be on Verizon phones.
they were just something that was thrown together, with no real reasoning
