Newest info on Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days
A new batch of information and a scan featuring Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days has surfaced online, yet nothing major has been revealed.
The new information comes from a recent interview, from which we previously gave you some information. More of this was translated, and from this we are able to show you this new information! This information is from the ever-dilligent Xaldin of KH-Vids!
- The scenes in KH2FM+ featuring Roxas and Axel have now been done in full work detail.
- Roxas will be having a few different forms, such as Sora did when entering Disney Worlds.
- The story of the game will not be entirely understandable for those that do not have the game, however they won’t enjoy it as much.
- Other characters will be appearing there as well, including various Disney Characters.
- However most of the conversations in this game will be revolving around Roxas.
- Those who played Kingdom Hearts II should understand the story even more, and may even understand why this game was put onto the DS.
- The 14th Member is a female who has influenced Roxas in his future actions, however she is too much of an important character in the story to talk about.
- In the event scenes, there will be a little movie, there also may be an opening movie to the game.
- The voice is becoming a issue with capacity but I am trying to find various ways to compress it into the game.
- During this we are re-doing the cutscenes of 358/2 Days as well, this is because on the DS there is a weak design to the data and for every update to the hardware we push 358/2 Days further.
- Even though we have a low capacity problem Nintendo has made it far, even their Rom capacity is going up!….Slowly (laughs)
- The order of Single Player to summarize it up is “Go to mission, Clear Mission, Return to HQ, Prepare for next mission, go to next mission.” There are also small mini events you can do such as after beating a mission join Axel for some Sea Salt Icecream.
- Missions that are beaten in Single Player can be played in Multiplayer mode.
Functions and Restrictions of KH on the DS
- There were many thoughts about making the game, before moving it to the DS.
- One of the thoughts was the capacity of the game, while the other one focused more on.
- The second thought was more on the use of the double screen, and the touchpen.
- When the story of the game was told, everyone was really interested in it, and wanted to work on it right away and deserved special production.
- The main problem of putting it onto the DS was the fact that the polygons of the characters dropped, although we tried our best to keep the cutscenes at least to the feel of the KH series. We are currently trying to fix the polygons for the gameplay to make it as smooth as possible.
- A chat option is added into the multiplayer mode, allowing other players to chat with each other.
Button Operations
- Nomura believes that the KH series feel of combat has kept that feel in 358/2 Days.
- He still will not utilize the touchpen in terms of gameplay.
- The buttons in the demo at JF have been re-arranged.
- Because this time the game will not be able to use an analog stick it doesn’t really fill like the main stream of the KH series to begin with, although we are aiming to get the best feel we can give for a KH game.
- The only complaints about the game given was the having to use the cross pad buttons instead of the Analog stick.
- We adjusted it though, and added a bit of connection between speed, combo and other actions during gameplay.
- The LM gauge is used as co-operation techniques as well as very dangerously powerful attacks.
- The Organization members in 358/2 Days in Multiplayer Mode will have moves from the original KH2, however due to restrictions we might not be able to have all their moves in there.
- Originally the chairs moved up or down when failing or succeeding a mission, we might change that a bit.
Phew – that’s a lot of info! Anyways, to add to this is a little except from a recent magazine article, showing off the most anticipated upcoming releases. On the left page we have Capcom, with Monster Hunter 3, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G and (obviously) BioHazard 5. Below this is Konami, and only Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is featured here. However, turning your attention to the right page, we have the upcoming Square-Enix releases: Dragon Quest 9, Dragon Quest 5, Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery, Final Fantasy 13, and of course, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days! It’s good to know the game is garnering much attention in the lead-up to its release, and is considered one of the ‘big releases’ of the coming months!

um, no char is right, if were waiing for 358/2, then there is no way they started to make the kh3 game. They still got birth by sleep and coded to deal with. And yes, your right, the brth by sleep trailer is in fact the end of the bbs game. BUt, if anything, its a preview for kh1, cause bbs takes place long before kh does

They probably started making some of KH3, but then they could of put it on hold for a while to make KH 358/2 Days. I saw a fight on t.v. in KH3, Sora(KH2)was fighting Terra, and they showed part of the trailer that I saw on youtube. Terra was wearing his chaser armor. I saw this on X play on G4. If anyone here has Directv, G4 is on channel 354. I am not lying! I really saw this on t.v.

cause someone as in depth to this series as i am is suppose to know this, i know its sad, ill admit it. I was really looking foward to the game being released in the us, for the reason that i wanted to fight all the organization members, including a boss that is much stronger than sephiroth, i kinda knew it was one those knights, jsut not sure which one.
that and if you go back a few pages in these forums that was a huge topic for a while and all the videos that final mix produced, that i was apart of. *sighs* here we go again. Nomura and the Kingdom Hearts team are currently only working on ONE game – Final Fantasy Versus XIII. The engine from this game will likely be combined with the KH1/KH2 engine to create the mould they’ll use for KH3, but this won’t happen until they finish the game.
So in other words, they won’t even start any work on Kingdom Hearts III until towards the end of this year at the earliest once Versus XIII goes into post-production.
Nomura’s working with various other teams as well with these other games. He’s working with h.a.n.d. (the team that made Chocobo Tales for DS) to make 358/2 Days, and he’s working with the Crisis Core team to do Birth by Sleep. He’s also got help from the Before Crisis/Agito XIII teams to make Coded.

Howdy Shadow. The thing you’re talking about with IPs is pretty much impossible – some times people will ‘share’ an IP address, because people who use Wi-Fi will often have a ‘dynamic IP’, which will change to a currently unused one when they log on.
So, if you’re using a home computer however which doesn’t have any wireless connections, then no one will have the same IP as you. :)

Also, Black Phoenix has no idea about what he is talking about. Final Fantasy XIII is made by Motomu Toriyama’s Final Fantasy X team, Birth by Sleep is being made by Tetsuya Nomura and the Crisis Core team, they have no real relation.
Nomura designed the characters for XIII, he’s basically done with that game. His KH1/2 team is directing Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
And Teruptis, if you don’t understand Final Fantasy well… not to be rude or anything but you mustn’t be concentrating too much…

I downloaded a PS1 game onto my PSP.(Spyro the Dragon)
Spyro the Dragon is still one of my all time favorites.
Get a PS3 and connect it to the internet, go to the playstation store on the PS3, then download Spyro(it might cost money). Connect a PSP to the PS3 by using a USB cable (sold separetly), put the PSP in USB mode and copy Spyro from the PS3 to the PSP.

it depends on what the game is about. if its something entirly new, then it will be a new map, say if the theme of the story were to be a differant sword, they might keep it however. or they might keep it, but extend on it, like in a link to the past how they had the dark and the light world. similar concept. but i agree i want a new game.
Call this a long shot, but does anybody think that the dark soldier could actually be Xenort’s heartless? Since this is before the first KH game, I would think that this makes some sense. Also because it’s BBS, his heartless has not been defeated yet.

And I have some things that can go against youre theory Org. In KH1 they talk about that the darkness took over Hollow bastion 9 years ago. BBs is 10 years before KH1. Also Ansem the wise brought the heartless to the world when he tried to explore Xehanorts heart.

Teruptis, the ansem heartless we fought was the real xehanorts heartless, no doubt about that. But since technically Birth By Sleep is the prequel to all that has happened so far in the kh story, we dont know if Xehanort went through the whole transformation yet, as what char said, well put.
Eagl, i it was ever released to saying exactly how long ago bbs was to kh1. Yes, the showed a video of wha ti believe was terra watching young sora and riku play on the islands, that means nothing. The ending could have taken place at that time. But the begining of the game could have een way before that. And what i mean by that is that BBS could possible take a full year or so to tell in game, highly impossible bt still out there. And the biggest wrong that i saw in your explanation is that it wasnt Ansem the wise who brought the xehanort’s heartless by exploring his heart. It was Xehanort and the other apprentices who decided to go against what he said and explored the heart

And it seems unlikely that the dark soldier is Xehanorts heartless. Then his nobody should be killed right after and he would be a whole person again. But still if he now got a whole person maybe he got wounded by the effort. But still now I doesnt have facts anything against the theory. So yeah now it kinda should be considered as a possibility

Heres what I wonder, You have a person, and this person loses his heart. He leaves a heartless and a nobody. The Heartless is the heart swallowed by darkness and the nobody is the husk or the body left over. It sems that both become substantially more powerfullundergoing the process, yet both the heartless and nobody of Xehanort attempt to open Kingdom Hearts. Heres the question, Are the two trying to reunite or become wholey seperate. If doing so would they become even stronger? Hmm.

as for you reza, what you said is half true, im almost positive nomura stated that sora is 5and riku is 6, making that ten years ago, you were however right when you said it could have beeen a war that lasts and number of years, the events of BBS could have just eneded the day before Kh1, we dont know.
In KH 1 Sora was 14 and Riku was 15, KH BBS is ten yearsbefore so Sora is 4 and Riku is 5.

You know those new creatures that were shown in one of the scans for BBS? I’m still wondering if they’re disouls. If we look back we have already fought heartless and nobodies. What could be left? Prove me if I’m wrong but heartless didn’t exist until the first KH game. Even though nobodies did exist in the first KH, we didn’t learn too much about them until KH2.

No official name yet, although alot of people think Dis-Soul or something like that, I forgot what the exact katakana said on 2chan… that was ages ago though.
Nomura’s already confirmed that Birth by Sleep takes place ten years before Kingdom Hearts (I), hence Sora was 4 and Riku was 5 in the trailer.
I’ve also been pretty sure that the unknown soldier is Xehanort’s Heartless for quite some time. This would mean that he could be as young as he was in the flashback in KH2 before he goes off to meet Ansem the Wise. It would explain everything pretty much.
Also, one thing I have just realised, 100% certainly, is that the Keyblade War is already finished at the time of Birth by Sleep. Think about it, at this time, Kairi would be 4 as well, and when we saw her in the KH1 flashback she was four or so, and her grandma told her that the Keyblade War happened “a long time ago”.
All the Keyblades on the fields that Terra, Ven and Aqua were walking on in the original KH2 secret movie all seemed old and used – the war has ended at this point in time. Master Xehanort, however, may be a veteran of some kind.
Another game, even further in the past, at the time of the Keyblade Wars would be really cool… or a scene in KH3 where the characters go through the door in Disney Castle back to the time of the original War, and then in the same game, and Second Keyblade War breaks out…
So many cool possibilities! Maybe I should post this in a new Rumours article on the front page so everyone can discuss this separately?

I really want to able to gith in this keyblade war, and not like, see the fight in the cut scene, and actual war with keyblade masters. BBS and the psp has no where near the capabilities to pull that off, so maybe the rumored 3rd main game on a next gen system would have it? Maybe we see a flashback and we can play as one of the veterans, maybe xehanort? Or perhaps they make a completly different game and has just that as a portion. I tell you what the though, if they decide to make a final mix game invlving one of these and dont release it outside of japan that has the war being playable…i wont e too happy to say the very least

i still highly doubt that kingdom hearts is going to skip a generation of playstation consoles, even if the new generation of consoles come on, im almost certain that nomura would still stick to this gen, cause, that mean, he would have to wait a couple year to even start production, i dont think that would actually happen, but you know what, you never know i guess

KH3 will be on the PS3, it won’t take them very long to make it because of Versus XIII. What no one understands is, Versus XIII is its own game, but its also a ‘prototype’ for KH3.
The team are making this to test the PS3 technology – rather than use a well-known series (KH) and risk stuffing up the next major installment if the team can’t work out the new PS3 technology, they decided upon an FF spin-off as a ‘trojan horse’ for the team to understand the PS3 technology better, insuring that KH3 will be perfect.
Rockstar Games did a similar controversial move recently, they made a game called Table Tennis, and it was a trojan horse piece of tech for the Xbox 360. They didn’t want to make GTA 4 for the 360 and stuff it up because they couldn’t work out the technology, so they made a cheaper game to work out the technology for them.
A little confusing, but in the long run, all it means is that KH3 will probably take one-to-two years maximum once Versus has been finished, so expect it mid-late 2010, or early 2011 (that’s only if FF13 and Versus13 hit more delays).
Secondly, PS2 games can’t be played on a DS. Shut the fuck up.
Next up, PSP and PS3 don’t have region lockout, so you can play games from around the world on them! :) This means that Birth by Sleep can be imported from America for those in Europe and Australia who don’t want to wait five months, and it also means that if a KH3 Final Mix is released only in Japan, you don’t have to buy a whole new console to play it.
Lastly, KH3 can still be called Kingdom Hearts III, what Nomura was talking about back then was that the next entry into the KH series wouldn’t be called KH3 – the next entry into the series is the current ‘project’ which includes BbS, 358 and Coded.
So the PS3 one can, at this point, still be called just ‘Kingdom Hearts III’.

But the ps3 came out late novemeber char, late 07, really late 07, so you might as well count that as the very begining of 08, so, 2012 at the earliest for the playstation console. And since the only reason why it took so long to make kh2, was becuase of all the other projects nomura was doing, kh3 shouldnt take very long to be honest with you.

Another thing that shines something on these new enemies. On that same page with the video you showed, down the page it showed an interview with Nomura, the guy asked about the new enemies. He replied with words along the line of, the shadow enemies are like the heartless jsut as the dusk is to the nobodies. Obviously, some of you have seen these connections, that these enemies are connected with either the light or the twilight. ANd with the way that these things are going, im gonna bet they are things from the twilight

weve already seen three keyblades with afinities to the roads. Kingdom key: light. mickeys keyblade: darkness. and way to the dawn: obviously dawn. but were missing one. Twilight. its never been confirmed that a twilight keyblade was ever shows. any ideas into what it could be or whos it could be?
yeah, you know, i think we talked about the different roads, and maybe touched on the 4th blade belonging to whovever it was walking towards us in the secret ending to kh2, not final mix.
The guy walking on the road in the KH2 secret movie (Sunset Horizon) was actually Master Xehanort. The Organization cloak that he seems to be wearing behind all the sand isn’t really a cloak, it’s just a shadow that’s designed to ‘look’ like a cloak, which will create connections with the younger Xehanort’s Heartless wearing the same cloak in KH2.
Just a small allusion to the previous title really.
As for why there’s no new updates, it’s because none of the other sites are updating. KH-Vids and KHInsider have nothing major to speak about, and neither does KH Ultimania, so there’s really nothing to write about… sorry… :(

And as for Char’s twilight keyblade question, I think like Nomura said there are as many keyblades as there are qualified hearts. So there could be like 70 different keyblades plus. However that still narrows the types to their origins in light, darknesss, twilght or dawn.
I personally beleive that the one Master Xehanort used in his fight in the Final Mix extra was one from the twilight. Maybe darkness, I could be wrong. The important question is how much of the keyblade’s image is dictated by the keychain attached and how much by the keyblade’s origin.
i saw a while back a clip of the half of MX keyblade as well as the DS keyblade. the article focused on one very important detail, the fact that they had an EYE somewhere on the keyblade. sound familiar, if not, riku sword when he was in the darkness also had an eye on it. makes me belive the keylbade is not a keyblade at all, rather a manefestation of darknesssed embodided into a wepon.

well for one, the worlds that could be in KH3. What ones would you want in the game. They can be new ones(from desniy, or ones you have just made up) or ones from prevois KH games.
I would want Radent garden, destiny island, twighlight town, olimpic collisem and if it could be possible, Kingdom Hearts It’s self.
Well I like those worlds. Also a Pixar world would be fun and Port royal. I would also like to visit some of the princesses worlds.
Another thing that should be brought into KH3 are the princesses them selfs. They should have a bigger part in the story. In KH1 they just left us hanging on what happens to the princesses, and in KH2 they relly didn’t bring them into the story line at all. So I would like to see them in the new game.
Well yeah. But I think the princesses will ahve a big meaning in BBS. It seems to be a lot circulating around the princesses worlds. But a bit more importnace for them would be nice but it still have to fit in in a good story.

The only two that i would like to see come back are Master and Final forms. I think there should be a form that firstly has the powers of all other forms and (this is a big one) all other charicters from the games. It should also have 4 keyblades hovering around Sora. Cool right!

But anyway I would love to have the drive forms back. I like all of them actually even if wisdom was a bit boring. But a new form would be nice. Maybe a figure out something about the chasers and have a drive form like them. But how do you think KH3 will be?

And a way to fix the easy problem is to have two keyblades attack with X the other two with O, or somthing with more complex buttens. This goes for reaction cammands too. Just pushing triangel was way to easy.

Well I think the game will most likly be about what that letter the king sent, said. Theres to many possibilites of what it could have said though, ranging from: Let’s have a tea party at the castel, to the castel has been taken over by the heartless (or some new kind of enimey.) So I can’t say for sure what it could be about, but it does allow for a big story plot because there is so many possibliteys.
I think that the letter brings up something about a new threat or something. And then in the game Sora found out his big goal. What he really needs to do to save the world. And what that goal is we will get to know in KH4.

Well it kinda depends on how it ends. If he destroyes Kingdom hearts or something like it. Then maybe the keyblade isnt necessary any longer and it dissapears with Kingdom hearts. Otherwise I think someone else will wield the keyblade.
If you were to destroy Kingdom Hearts all things would be desroyed with it because all hearts are born there and all hearts die there.

Also in my own sparetime I pretty much play soccer or if I have time I also go to wrestling. Other than that I just hang out with my friends.
Well, my main instrement is the Alto Sax but I can play all of the saxaphones out there (Tenor, Baritone, Sepraino and so forth) I can also play trumpet (cornet as well)and I have been playing with a clarenet for a few weeks too. That and I can sorta’ play piano.
But yeah, when I’m not playing an instrement I hangout with my frends, and play Kingdom Hearts of corce.
So what else do you like to do?

Well if Sora dies and you have Riku as the new main charahctr I wouldnt stop playing the game. But I wonder if they really want to kill Sora. Riku actually seems to be the one that most likely will die of Sora, Riku and Kairi. But it would fit kinda if Sora dies or anything, Riku cant handle he lost his best friend and instead he goes away alone. But then later he realize that he has to keep up the fight against the darkness. Sry just a bit of high thinking there.
