New Birth By Sleep Scans, Boxart, and Commercial!
As we approach the Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Japanese release, all sort of new art and info have begun to spill out. First and foremost, the boxart has been revealed, showing off Birth By Sleep’s three main characters and King Mickey. Keep in mind, this isn’t the actual boxart, but the art that will be used to create it.
Scans for the latest Famitsu have also surfaced, boasting the characters from Olympus Coliseum, Radiant Gardens, and Yen Sid’s Tower. It also shows off some of the CG that will be featured in Birth By Sleep, which looks to be fantastic. (thanks to KHInsider for the scans!)
Best of all, a Japanese trailer has also been put up on Youtube (in HD!), featuring some of the CG in motion as well as multiple new scenes for all characters. You can watch it here.
Also, look out for a new Birth By Sleep themed banner!

I wonder what Xehanort’s apprentice is about to stab?
Brutal. This game is definitely gonna answer alot of questions we all have about the series.
And we actually see Terra and Aqua fighting, maybe he’s the one that finished her off which is why you see her armour in KH II FM.
I seriously think Terra goes outright rogue and becomes Ansem’s Apprentice.
that got my attention as well, the terra vs Aqua fight. What the heck was that about. Plus Ven seems to have paid a visit to the station of awakening.
Wait a minute, Ven at the station of awakening when everythign began with birth by sleep. Might be farfetched or completly irrelevant but could it mean something?
Theory,
The Station of Awakening or the Dive to the Heart as I call it is shown to future keyblade bearers. It is a trial of their strength and right to wield the keyblade. Because it’s said the Keyblade chooses it’s master, this could be the test. This has been my original theory.
Another possiblity is the fact that this Station of Awakening thing is because of Ven’s involvement with the keyblade and princesses of heart, Roxas experienced it because of his connection to Sora, Sora experienced it because of some unrevealed connection to Ven, I assume this because Ven has traveled to the Destiny Islands and looks like Roxas.
Still just speculation. *SIGH*
The graphics in the first scan look dark and rich like the first game had it. I LOVED that about the first one. Everything was just too light hearted in the second game, especially after all of the events in the first one. Hope that it will carry through with some good story telling.
hey guys if you look at the boxart
aqua and ven have keychaains while terra does not
could that also mean something or those having a keychain or not doesnt mean anything??
and well my computer does not let me see the scans and im going crazy hahaha to what i here everything sounds good especially eagl Q why would terra and aqua fight? now thats a good question maeby 1 of the trio has to stay alive? hahaha naaa i dont think so hahaha
guys i was cheking the secret ending and theres something that said ” the awakening is innevitabnle” something like that
what could that be
i was thinking that it would ethier be a wielder or in that past of bbs what existed inside KH was darkness trap inside the door
and MX wanted it out or something like that
OMG this looks so awesome!!!! I can’t wait for this game!!!!! =D
Well I dont really know why they would fight each other. It could just as well be a practise mode, like they spared against each other. Or it might have been after Terra went to the dark side. As I said, I have no idea.
Otherwise, great find on the keychains. I wonder why Terra now is the only one without one.
And Dive, both of them could be true, Ive especially been a follower of the first theory. But since we havent had much input on it, there havent been much to discuss
Hi everyone – how have you all been!?
I’ve been busy with day-to-day work and putting together my new artistic endeavours, so I haven’t really had much time to drop by and see what was going on in the world(s) of KH! I’m still looking forward to seeing where Birth by Sleep takes the series, however I’ll have to play the game myself before I pass judgment on the battle system.
Catch y’all again soon!
so if that theorie is true then Sora was being tested for the key?
and then what about riku maybe he was getting those too? but wasn’t shown?
if Riku is said too be the original barrier why show Sora in the station?
Golden you posted one minute before me
good luck on that and take care
Always good to hear from, you Golden. Feels good you havent completly forgot about us :)
And riku maybe ahd one as well. Or it has a connection to Sora/Roxas/Ven.
probably eagl maeby will se whats the cause in BBS right hahaha
I propose that The Station of Awakening isn’t the definitive trial to get the Keyblade, rather it is like the “qualifying round” to see if you eligible to wield it.
Riku’s heart was in my opinion undoubtably stronger at the beginnig of KH I at the Destiny Islands. He was the one who wanted to adventure the most. Sora was just kinda going along with it all i.e. “Sora, you lazy bum!!!”
Since Riku chose the path of darkness to get to other worlds, the LIght realm keyblade jumps straight to Sora as a result.
But My questions there are that the Station of Awakening seems to have extreme connections to King Mickey, the Sword, Mystic Rod and Dream Shield all have his crest on there, and the Kingdom key besides. Mickey has a serious but undefined relationship with the Keyblade mythos.
Finally the Station of Awakening originally featured the Princesses of Heart, another interesting lead. Roxas’ itteration featured Sora doubtless because Roxs was his nobody. But why show Sora the Princesses of Heart?
It seems like the Princesses and Keyblades are each both the Lock and Key to the Heart of All Worlds. Ugh.. So much to think about.
Sorry for the double post but I thought this important enough. Checked back at the BBS offfical site and yall may even know this already but from what I saw, all of Ansem’s apprentices have been featured except for Xehanort. HMM… I WONDER WHY THAT COULD BE?
Also interesting is that the apprentices weapons all are the same, just a little flavor change. Especially the fact that instead of the Org. XIII motif they have the emblem of a huge HEART. Like in the Kingdom Hearts Title Letters. Very cool.

Just go to the worlds section, Radiant Garden, and Characters or screenshots.

well i believe that xehanort is either terra or a mix of terra with xehanort since ansem the seeker of darkness has exact clothes as MX if you guys have looked in some vids plause someone else also mentioned it so
and well what else i cant tell much but what if mickeys ancestors have to do with someting
or yen sid has to do something with it?
i wonder how yen sid got the ability to give mickey a keyblade?
that is also something else he might be a master of magic but he doesnt semm to be related in anyway with the keyblade masters or perphaps he is hahaha
Hi, I haven’t been here in a while. When does this game come out anyway?
well as far as what has been said
japan gets it now in christmas was it? and if thats it then for US soon in next year haha i dont recall so well anyone that knows better the answer to blacks Q
Nice to see some returners here. Also I liked your thoughts there Dive. That the keylade and station has connection to Mickey, could that be explained in BBS? Also you kinda answered yourself about the princesses at the station. That the keyblade will seal all the worlds, and the princesses can open up the door to darkness and they keep the order to the world. Or, Nomura had no clue and just put in something that could fit in.
Also we cant forget Yen Sid. Could the mysterious wizard be another keyblade master? He did train Mickey, gave him a keyblade with his own “theme”. Plus that we never get to know anything about him. Ah who knows, I just want this game
I think Yen Sid is just a bomb-diggity wizard who knows alot about the “keyblade/heart of worlds” topic.
That and I think he didn’t make up the keyblade, he just gave him the keychain that took that form. Mickey could have given the keychain back at any time I think.
Well, that brings up another point. How was Mickeys original keyblade. Plus were there even a keychain on it
Okay, just saw the pic that there was a keychain on it. But I wonder how Mickeys first keyblade looked like…
Good point there Eagl. Who knows. I wonder how many more worlds can be visited. Doesn’t seem like a whole lot right now.
I think that MIckey’s first keyblade was probably the Kingdom Key, the keychain is said to bring out the Keyblade’s “True Form”.
He just got the Dream Key from Yen Sid, then the Silver Kingdom Key after he took off into the dark realm.
I would even venture to guess that Mickey initially had Sora’s keyblade, the Kingdom Key, then relinquised mastery of it to go to the dark realm. It simply followed the strongest heart in the light realm after Mickey left bringing the weapon to the destiny islands. But this is all 100% speculation.
I dissagree with something you said earlier dive. Way back when in post fifteen, you said that Riku’s heart was stronger than sora, and becuase he chose darkness, the keyblade jumped to Sora. I dont think sora was weaker than riku at all, especially in such a time of despiration. If you look at that scene again, and if you look at one important facet of sora’s personality ,we can see that sora is very emotionally moved, and gains strength from that at times. Sora was frantic, his island was being eaten, he couldnt find the woman he cares about, and his best friend was being swallowed before his eyes. He needed something to fight it off with, and the keyblade chose him because that despiration gave him emotional power that topped rikus overall power anyday, just like in the final fight with riku, when sora becomes angry, the line where he says “theres no way youre taking kairis heart” and fends off riku who otherwise beat him. I think sora was indeed stronger than riku at that moment, but becuase of his lack of that emotion when he arrives at HB later on, that is why riku was able to take it.
However, i agree with your most recent post, becuase the kingdom key’s keychain is the mickey mouse head. I believe that was his origonal keyblade, which he himself crafted after becoming a true warrior of the light.
