Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Characters
Ventus, or Ven, is the youngest of the Birth By Sleep trio, yet incredibly eager to learn the art of the keyblade. Ventus fights valiantly, yet cautiously. After Terra is sent after Master Xehanort, Ventus follows after him against Master Eraqus’ wishes. For some reason during Birth By Sleep Ventus asks for Terra to “erase” him. The meaning of this phrase is currently unknown, but it is believed to be a key point in Birth By Sleep’s story. His strange likeness with Sora’s nobody, Roxas, is also a large topic of discussion. Who is Ventus?
Aqua has been viewed as the passionate member of the Birth By Sleep trio, showing constant concern for her fellow keyblade apprentices. She, along with Terra, is preparing to take the Keyblade Master Qualification Exam. After Ventus takes off after Terra, Aqua is sent after Ventus. Using primarily magic attacks, Aqua is swift and agile in her fights. Among other mysteries, Aqua has been seen with a young Kairi, protecting her from harms way. Who is Aqua?
Terra represents the leader of the Birth By Sleep trio, taking command whenever things get rough. He shows an immense amount of love for his friends, Ventus and Aqua, and does all he can to assist them. At the start of Birth By Sleep, he is at the Land of Departure to take the Keyblade Master Qualification Exam along with Aqua, intensely eager to become a Keyblade Master. However, he is soon sent by Master Eraqus to find Master Xehanort, who has disappeared with the coming of the mysterious Unversed. Terra has shown interested in grasping the dark side of his heart, as he has been seen talking with Disney villains on various occasions. Like Ventus, he bears a striking resemblance to another Kingdom Hearts character, Xehanort. Who is Terra?
Master Eraqus is a Keyblade Master and advisor over Ventus, Terra, and Aqua. He sends Terra after Master Xehanort after he disappears with the coming of the Unversed. He then sends Aqua after Ventus, who left in search of Terra. Little else is known about Master Eraqus. He does, however, bear striking resemblance to Final Fantasy creator, Hironobu Sakaguchi.
Master Xehanort is a Keyblade Master who studied alongside Master Eraqus at one point. With the coming of the Unversed, Master Xehanort mysteriously vanishes from the Land of Departure, causing Master Eraqus to send Terra in search of him. It is unknown why Master Xehanort left, though widely believed that the Unverse had something to do with it. Master Xehanort has some connection with Xehanort from Kingdom Hearts II, but it is unknown exactly what. He wears the same clothing as Xehanort’s heartless, Ansem.
Vanitas is Master Xehanort’s single apprentice. Little is known about Vanitas at this point, but he has been repeatedly shown as an antagonist of Ventus, Terra, and Aqua. He wears clothing similar to Riku’s Dark Form. Vanitas has been shown in screenshots as the one who convinced Ventus to follow after Terra, although his motives for doing this are unknown. He wears a helmet at all times, but his identity will be revealed at the end of Birth By Sleep. Vanitas means “Vanity” or “Emptiness” in Latin.

That Dark Soldier dude is really strange. Although the name is different, perhaps it’s a cover name for someone we know abut? Just throwing out some thoughts here.
The name Vantias was chosen because it sounded similar to Ventus. What that means, I don’t know.

Okay, Im really interested in Vanitas. And the thing that he wil reveal himself in the end makes it even more spectacular. That sounds like he is someone weve seen or someone who have strong connection to someone.
I agree with Eagl’s post. But if it is someone we know, who the hell could it be? Can’t think of anybody who would fit that character. Well, from what we know about this character anyway.
If he’s related to anyone in some way from the current games, I can bet it’s either Xehanort or Riku. Riku because he fights like him, same body shape, etc. Xehanort because Xehanort’s heartless, Ansem, gave Riku the Dark Form clothing when he took over his body, which is ridiculously close to the clothing Vantias is wearing.
well if vanitas shows in the end who he is could be xehanort since he appeareds late on bbs probably or just to have fun soras dad remember that dumb rumor of soras dad coming out on coded hahaha im just kiding on this one but could be xehanort or i dont know non other come to my mind hahaha
i think it either going to be rikus nobody(i dont get how it could be) but since riku had a heartless, shouldnt he have a nobody too. also i definitely think he has some connection to ven. Ventus, Vanitas. kinda similar. also there are alot of scenes with them 2 together. vanitas in latin means emptiness, so i think hes someones nobody.
Well, Riku doesnt have a nobody. He didnt even had a heartless. His heart was never taken, just pushed out of the body so Xehanorts heartless could take over it. Also I dont even think the heartless existed at the time of BBS.
Rikus isnt a bad guess, but I would more go for the Xehanort guess. But I think Terra so fsr is the best guess, but anything can happen. But we can for certain say Xehanorts “original” will be in the game, since BBS will tell us the story about Xehanorts past (one of the 4 stories Nomura wanted to tell us when resting Sora).
Another thing that does talk for Vanitas is connected to Riku is the similarity between the names, Vanitas and Ventus. might be a long shot, but who knows at thus point. And its just about a month until it will be released
yea thats true. I thought Rikus heartless was xheanort. im so confused… anyway, you know what doesnt make sense is that how can there be an old man from of xheanort 10 years before the original kh, and then in the original kh there is a young xheanort??? Also in kh 2 when they were in radiant garden mickey showed a picture to them of young xheanorts face around the time of bbs.
I guess it’s safe to say nothing makes sense anymore. I highly doubt it’s Riku because of one reason. Remember when this take place? 10 years before KH 1. Riku would be wayy too young.
It can’t be Terra either, he’s been seen fighting Vantias. Best bet in Xehanort, but we’ve seen a screenshot of Xehanort in BBS and his figure isn’t right.
So who knows.

i have a big theorie all ready hahaha but i dont want to say it because all im saying is a lot of guessing hahaha
yea theres alot of errors in this, first of all, aqua and terra do fight, but they dont kill eachother, they all die in the end, like if you watched the video you would see, xheanort and vanitas kill them all. Then Xheanort kills master eraqus, and so on. He then chooses Xheanort of the future as his key bearer, and that child had the same name as the old man xheanort, and then vanitas chose riku as his key bearer, lastly ven chooses sora as his key bearer, which would explain why soras nobody roxas looks exactly like ven. Because while sora was asleep and his nobody was created, the nobodys body couldnt be made from sora, so it was made as an exact copy of ven. as for aqua, and terra, they obviously never chose any key bearers unless, in kh3 there are 2 new key bearers that might be from them.
But at the same time Ricky, if you dont post it, you never will be able to develop the theory. Plus you might enlight someone else
As of your theory, there are some types of things that talk against it. BBS is actualy a new serie, which will lead to a follow-upper. It doesnt really disprove, but the chance that they will kill all the protagonists (except Mickey) is rather tiny.
Something that does is true is that Riku was originally set to be the keyblade wielder. But when he opened up for darkness and Sora touching his light their ways were exchanged.

And Ricky, I believe Nomura gave us that explenation in an interview when he talked about Riku and his path to darkness. And both of them were chosen, only that they had the other ones destiny. Soras path was originally Rikus and Rikus was Soras

Well Im not sure if theyre talking about a dark path, since Riku opened up for darkness he took a detour. It would be more as Sora would be in the twilight realm/road or whatever in that case.
And Ive never really understood coded. But at the same time therem ust be soem secrets that has nbigger impact on the series. The problem is that you never hear anything from it

Terra Is Xemnas/Ansem/Xehanort after the battle with master Xehanort he forgets all memories except for the name Xehanort, so he becomes Ansem’s Apprentice taking that name

and the reason kairi does not remember much is because all the basic memires she had were about bbs and well she was small not much to remember
Its definitely the the theory that makes a lot of sense. But we never know if Nomura surprises us. Though this time it has to be a really huge one.
And about Vens erase, it could occur, but somnehow I havent seen any other sign of it than when he talked to the mysterious charachter. It could be that they erased him later, after he got frozen, but somehow it just gets too much speculation. B ut its a good tought.
Aqua is more likely determed to go search for Terra and Ven or their hearts. Terras part has been said outnumbered occasions.
Kairi on the other hand, is a little mystery. Could it be something to do with Vens erase? Or could it be something else? Anyway, the occasion when she departs fron Radiant Garden is after Xehanort took over, so there could be soemthign between that is the explenation
well since probably kairi has to do somethjing with Ansem the wise, ansem probably saved her but at last minutes i guess?

no offense, but there have been plenty of people that previosu stated releaste dates and plots that never occured, so excuse me for being skeptic. But on the other hand, April seems to be the most likely release month. But I just hope it will cover the europeian release as well, so that we dont have to wait even longer for it
Has anyone noticed that Vanitas’ keyblade closely resembles Riku’s Way to the dawn keyblade?
To be honest, the only similarity I can find is the eye, which also appears on Master Master Xehanorts keyblade
