New interview(s) with Nomura regarding Kingdom Hearts!
Yep, Nomura’s back at it again, hyping the series up and letting out a few new hints about the upcoming sequels… nothing big, but it’ll have to tide us over.
To re-instate what we already know: the next title will be announced at TGS, and its a side-story for a portable console (either DS, PSP or Japanese mobiles). The game will NOT feature Sora as the lead character – it’ll either by Roxas, Riku or one of the three knights (Ven most probably). Sora will apparently be ‘taking a break’ from the series for a while, and for the time being Nomura will focus on explaining other things happening during Chain of Memories.
So in this title, expect to see the events of Roxas’ life during the year he ran away after his Birth by Sleep, and Riku’s desperate battles with the darkness, as well as some more Mickey backstory.
As for gameplay, he says he’ll probably try something new… no idea what though. He wants to implement some magic/attack combo system that was scrapped for KH2 because of a lack of time, and possibly tune thr Keyblade and jumping stats.
Lastly, the “Kingdom Hearts X” title that has been flying around is 100% FALSE – it was always just referring to ‘Kingdom Hearts (working title)’, as in, there’s currently no name (X = unknown in this case).

personally i hope its for the psp. I think if its for the Ds there will be something stupid that is complicated and will take away from gameplay. I want it to be short and sweet, But maybe with a few new magic combos.
it seems to me they made it simple with the magic attack combo in kh2, its there, just look carefully, its either master or final form where you use magic and it attacks as well, but it be interestting to what the new thing is. You cant make it to complex to where we would lose itnerest, but you cant make it look soo much lik ethe original
Nah nah, he means some other combo system that hasn’t been implemented before.
I just hope that it’ll be for the PSP because simply of the better graphics and for the purpose of the more memory that a PSP has than a DS. Don’t get me wrong, I love the DS, but it’ll be better suited for the PSP than the DS. What do you guys think?
like i said psp. My reason is simply i think that on the ds there will be some stupid unnecasary addition for the touch screen. but i agree the graphics would be much better. so my vote is about 99% psp.

Hate to get in this arguement…for the who knows anymore time. But if they want to drastically change the battle system, i think the only thing they can look to is the ds, no offense to the psp or anything, but with new battle system they talk about, i dont see what they can do on the psp
Hmm, yeah the way he talked about the new combos made it seem like something other than the PS2/PSP controller scheme would be needed – perhaps that’s why it didn’t test so well with the original KH2.
For the Ds and psp their should be a way for people in kh3 or the other stories to be better button plays like the touch screen can show you the players life and his experiance level and other items he might have like spells and keyblade equipment and maybe the graphics will look alright
I think that the reaction commands in the game was awesome, but what they should add to, not only this magic/attack combo system, but also evolve the reastion command system.
I mean, most of the time, you can just contiously press the triangle button and get it successfully except for the battle with xemnas alone. If they were to expand like use the system used in God of war, using the other 3 buttons, maybe the left and right shoulder button, and maybe even analog stick rotations, i think they can make it quite interesting.
Specially if they can somehow make the reaction command free-form, meaning pressing one button does this, but instead of that, i rotate the analog stick, it creates something drastically different. I can already see alot of problems and complications wiht that. But you know what, they have about 3 years do work the game, i hope they can squeeze that in
I really think there is a possibility that KH3 will be for PS2 because the SONY company are just money eaters and they’ll do anything to make more and more money.
And, I think that the KH3 gameplay should be like the battle between Cloud and sephiroth(or how ever you spell it) like when Cloud ran up the wall and jumped at sephiroth and the camera zoomed in the battle. The KH3 gameplay should be just like that like you can run up walls and jump off and the player be swinging his keyblade at the enemy airborne.
And I have a question is Kingdom Hearts 3 really already out in Japan my cousin said it was I just want to make sure.

The unnammed main kh game, i say unnammed cause noumra said it wont be kh3, will be for the ps3 at the very least.
It IS NOT out yet, they havent even started to make the game yet, so there is no chance it is out in japan yet. So you should samck your cousin for me for even saying that
Agreed. I’m starting to get pissed off at how many people think the next game is called KH3. If more people would at least just read the previous threads, I think they would discover quite a lot.

Meh. A lot of the people coming here are like 12 years old or around that and are really not too internet-savvy, they just believe they are.
In other words, really gullible. I could make a new article here informing everyone that KINGDOM HEARTS IIIIII: MAGICAL DISNEY DRESSUPS AND TEA PARTIES was coming out next month for PSone, and that Nomura had left the project to work on a new Mario, so the director of Grand Theft Auto had come in to do this title.

Make sense to make Riku and Roxas the main characters. Wonder if you would be able to play as the king?
I’ve been wondering about that thought too. I would think his powers would be just as powerful as Sora’s. I know Yen Sid wasn’t so important but we didn’t learn too much about his connection with the king.
Nah man, i tihnk that the king is gonna be, let me rephrase that, should be more powerfull than sora. Hes the freaking king for christs sake. i mean come on. But i think that it will be interesting, weve already played as riku and roxas, so in a sense we know what its like. but still, i think taht whatever they will do will be awesome.
Well, that goes without saying. I find it odd that Mickey doesn’t wield two keyblades. I mean, he’s the smartest and strongest character there is.

if you go that site, you can buy the ps2 game and a special disk that allows you to play them on your normal ps2, i was thinking about getting it, but just never got around to it

I deffintly dont think that Riku is gonna be the main/playable character, or Roxas. Its either gonna be one of the 3 knights or Mickey. Although Roxas and Riku might be playable or teamates during the game I dont think there gonna be the main user like Sora was in the first 2. Oh and anyone who beleaves that souless crap about how Nobodys turn to them or w/e thats deffintly the dumbest theory I ever heard. I think Nomura is much smarter then that, hes deffintly not that boring lol.
ok, well your theory or whatever you wanna call it is as dumb as you think the souless one is. its already been stated that the knights are not going to be the main charecters in the spin off game, which is the next game comeing out. its also been said that it will more than likely be roxas and or riku.
now, everyone is entiteld to their own theory and it is as right as anyone elses unless there is facts against it, like yours. so, anyone who thinks the souless theory is entitled to think that, and its in no way dumb, seing as how theres no evidence against it.
Specially how in kh2 ansem’s reports talk about how the soul and the body gets cast aside when a heartless is made, they made an opening for the soulless characters

I dont know if you people know this but Roxas is the Keyblade master it even says go to nobodies in jiminys journal and look up that nobody that you fight in the beginning with Roxas in the station of awakening and it says in the info on it “It was over powered by the Keyblade master.”
And i think the bald dude is Xehanort because it says in the Ansem report he wants to capture Kingdom Hearts I think its Xehanort because in the trailer for the next installment of Kingdom Hearts he starts floating to the sky and it shows kingdom hearts its just a thought so dont get mad if im wrong.

and since roxas and sora are one in the same, sora is also the/a keyblade master. its not just roxas alone, soras one as well along with other possible masters in the past.
I think it was brought up efore, but the difference between weilders, and masters…
Maybe with this secret ending were not thinking back far enough, yeah we saw mickey, but what if these 3 soldiers, were the first and original keyblade masters.
Could this be what Kairi’s grandmother was talking about? Maybe her story is linked to the first and original keyblade masters. Just a hunch I had. Is it possible that besides Xehanort, that all of the other members knew about these particular three?
Possibly, it was disscussed before and i think we agreed that there can be more than one master, but that theres a definet differance.

Well in an interwiev with square enix it was said that Kingdom hearts 3 should come out for ps3. But it might be a long time until then. The next game will be for a handheld. But we can hope for that Nomura say something about KH3
