Nomura interviewed regarding new Kingdom Hearts titles
Just a small interview this time, conducted by a Nintendo-themed magazine called ‘Wii and DS’. The interview doesn’t reveal anything really new, so I’ll just summarise anything interesting below. Also, no scans come with this – sorry guys.
On the topic of the 14th member, Nomura was 100% tight-lipped and won’t reveal anything new on her – looks like he wants to keep her secret just like with Roxas.
Talking about 358/2 Days, Nomura mentions that the battle system is totally different than previous entries into the series because there is no command menu at the moment, input is done based on buttons on the DS, although a menu may be added at some point. The touch-screen is currently not used at all, but they may implement a small extra feature later in development and ‘surprise (them)selves’.
When it comes to multiplayer, he tells us again that depending on how players do using each of the Organization members during the multiplayer missions, the members’ chairs in the big white room will move up or down. He then confirms Xemnas as a playable charcter, and makes a joke that “it would be funny if the player lost using Xemnas, and then seeing his chair the lowest in the room!” :D
He then quickly mentions that Zexion has been a tough character for them to implement, and that to play as him he will probably be based around an ability to steal other enemies attacks. He’ll also have some smaller techniques of his own, but his play-style will be mostly based around this attack-stealing technique.
Lastly, he mentions Coded and its influence upon the storyline – the game won’t explain what Sora and company will be doing in the real world while the Coded plot is occuring in the data world (so perhaps we’ll see this in KH3 as a sort of intro?). He reinforces the fact that the game’s plot will be quite revealing though, letting us in on many secrets and giving us a hint on what’s to come in the future.

Well if the plot is gonna be greatly revelaed to whats to come, then they have to bring it to the us and everywhere else.
The final mix games wouldve been good to have, but they didnt reveal much new things besides the knights. With coded, if the game somehow moves into the next main game, like an intro or whatever, then that means that ohter people besides the japanese are gonna have to play the game

Anywhos, that doesnt mean that the stylist isnt gonna be implemented, just not a major part, maybe youll have to use the stylist to start and finish like a special move, or a combo between the other characters, that be cool

And coded have an influence in the storyline. Well I will most likely not play the game. The market here in Sweden is a long way after the others

haha, golden, ive played the kh games to death, thats why i was hoping the mixes would get to me, that or the new games would come out soon, cause…
After i beat all 3 games once, i replayed kh2 many many times, once using the sword, another mmagic, and another shield, another game, rarely using magic, the next using nothing but magic. Got 100% in another game, and played it again cause i was extremely bored, so i played kh2 and beat it at least 8 times.
I played CoM again, beating sora’s story twice and riku’s 3 times, bored again. Then about 6 months ago, so bored, i borrowed kh1 from my friend and played that again. It was fun, did nothing major like collect all the dlamation or anything like, just beat, my second time i did that, so 3 times beating the first.
And hey guys, to tidus specially, i was joking, unless a new thread comes up, posting details, anything i say will either be a theory, but my theories i back up with facts, if they dont have facts with, thennnn im just screwing with some newbie in here, haha
The only one that I play obsessively is CoM. I don’t know how many times I’ve beaten both sides…Riku’s is more interesting.

I like it! 358/2 Days sounds like fun! And Zexion stealing abilities? How cool… I think. I don’t know what to get first, 358/2 Days or Birth By Sleep! Things are getting interesting with Kingdom Hearts again! I wonder if this’ll make up for Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+!

Kh2 was my favorite, and ive beaten it over 50 times. most of my save files are filled up, i tihnk i have like 3 left. Ive beaten kh1 like ten times i think, and ive only beaten com like twice for each story. was never a fan of that one.

Hey, we stick up for each other! At least we’re supposed to, lol. I’ve seen keyblade before, can’t remember which thread, oh well. And Sora, it took me forever to beat KH1, I got stuck on the solo fight phase of fighting Xehanort’s Heartless.
A lot of the ending of KH1 is in the intro of KH2, and in the part where Roxas is getting Sora’s memories. Something I did notice about that is that they changed Ansem’s voice, I’ve always wondered about that. I mean, why not just use the same voice print again?
Sometimes you cant get the same voice actors as before, and your right, ansems voice did change
This is the best news I’ve heard. i cant wait untill it comes out. That animated movie idea is awsome i would buy it in a second. I’ve beaten both games on every Difficulty level posible. ive completed jiminys jernal 100% on every difficulty level. I’ve beat the game with out using magic unless you had to use it to get further in the game. So you can say ive been bored. anyway this new game needs to hurry and come out. Its good to hear Sora’s in it. And of course Riku and King Mickey. this will be the best thing aside the movie that ever happend to KINGDOM HEARTS fans.

Yep, DiZ is indeed ‘Darkness in Zero’, as revealed in one of the Ansem Reports in KH2.
In KH2′s English version, I’m pretty sure the voice was changed from award-winning actor Billy Zane (who wasn’t interested in returning) to veteran voice-actor Richard Epcar (from the Ghost in the Shell saga). A good choice I’d say, but I didn’t hear that much of them.
Throughout the Japanese versions, its always been master voice-actor Akio Otsuka who’s played Ansem/Xehanort – he most notably also played Solid Snake (as well as Solidus Snake and Naked Snake).
Anyway, sorry I haven’t updated on anything, I’ll check if anything’s worth it and put that up now – just a quick announcement, Ash is officially alive.

Darkenss in Zero was in the game actually, when soras lookign for the password to the computer, tifa knocks down the ansem picture, and sora reads darkness in zero. and below that it says DIZ, but its never read out loud. Easy to overlook. and kh3-superfan, i actually wanna thank you for coming here and just saying im new and stating your progress. Ash has been living in a rural area of the country – we have a lot of them in the centre, out near the desert, so there wasn’t any internet access.
After six months, he finally found the ability to quickly get on some crummy <56k connection somewhere and send us a message, and now we know what’s going on! :)

its beacuse there not main storyline games like one two or three, there side stroies that will ultimatly tie into the final installment which will be for the platformed ps3. the side story is on handhelds to show a sense of individuality involving storylines. is my theory.

What luna said, with it not being a main story, they have no contractual issues to be on certain platforms. Its also the developers choice as well. So he mustve thoguht that the ideas that he has for this game was better told on the handhelds for either different control, or just saving money, who knows.

Dont worry youre welcome as long as you behave. Yes Kh3 will be out at least 2011 maybe 2010 if were really lucky. But theres a new sidestory called Birth by sleep that will happened 10 yeasr before Kh1. If you have seen the secret trailer after youve beat Kh2 you know bout the knights. They will be the main chartachter. But that would be released for PSP 2009.
Then theres 358/2 days that will focus on Roxas time in the org. Plus you will know what they did during the days. This will most likely be the first game released and it will be for Nintendo ds

Something has been bothering me for a while now. So, at/near the end of KH2, Riku loses his dark power. Yet, when fighting Xehanort, he can still use dark attacks. (which I was extremely disappointed with). So, does this mean that he still has some DP left? I mean, he doesn’t seem to use magic, or any powers from the light, so, than if that is true, than he would just be a swordsman, which is hard to believe.

he didnt loose his dark powers persay, they just kinda got surpressed as riku accepted the light more and more. Riku can choose when to use the darkness as we saw in the roxas battle. And he can choose when not to. He was in his dark form until the explosion because he wanted two things, for sora not to find him using his dark powers. ANd to have the powers to save sora. So his DP’s are allways there, riku can just surpress it. He basicaly hs learned to controll it, and can use them and his Xehanorts heartless form at will now.
Hmm, that could be it, though I noticed that when you fight with Riku, he has considerably less power than in CoM.
And he’s learned to not fear the darkness and accept it.
exactly, and by accepting it, he can controll it at will. But since hes not using the raw uncontrollable power of darkeness, he is like you said Tirition, considerably weaker.
i wouldnt say considerably weaker, but he is weaker…for now. Until he can fully control it, he can unleash its full power, and be more powerful than before
As of right now, his only strength is the darkness itself.
For now…but he is on the road to dusk/dawn, meaning new abilities and powers

I just beat Sepferath, {i think, i spelled it wrong}. after cloud and him fight,you get a keyblade that doesnt even look like one? If you can beat him, i means you are the best of the best! He is so hard, It took me three thousand time! {NOT really that long} Lol
Hate to say this but that fight was actually not so challenging. Why? Because the reaction commands made him too easy. Now if you had beaten him in KH1, then I would be more impressed. No offense, but that’s just what I think.
i think they were both easy fights. The first time in kh1 i took on (its spelled Sephiroth) him, i was only like lv 50, and in kh2 i was only lv like 65. both on proud or whatevers the hardest. i didnt think it was hard at all.
I dont think it was the reaction comands, if i remember right, there was only like 2, the rest was just pretty much wailing on him, what i though made it easy was breaking his combos. Like if you broke his teleportation combos, or his Angle thing (where he leaves you with one hp and mp, dont remember waht its caled) then hes vaunerable, and you can just wail on him like hes a dummy.
The fight in the first game was alot harder, i beat him actually at level 99, then again i never actually took the time to understand the moves and what he does.
Regardless if you have reaction commands or not, if you study his moves, what each attack does and how to defend them, you can easily win.
Now, i will be truly impressed if you beat him at a really low level, or beat him on the first try
the lowest ive beaten him on is lv like 53 or 54. and it was the second try, so im not that good yet.
I think i was bored in kh2 when i tried to take him on at 40…i was murdered. Not sure the exact level, but i think i was around 60 when i actually beat him
I never beat him in either, it’s weird that in all other games but KH, I go all OCD with the sidequests. I never even did the trinities in KH1. What happens when you beat him?
sephy in KH1? nothing you just get expirience and he teleports away. in Kh2 he fights with cloud, and Tifa gives you a new keyblade.
in kh1, you just get the satisfaction of defeating the biggest badass of all
If you think about it, getting a keyblade after defeating Sephiroth is really something to look forward to for an award.
eh, i suppose, i didnt think Fenrir was anytihng that great, so it has the highest attack, its ablility and lack of magic sux, and it didint look cool enough to jsut use it for strenght, especially when its only one higher than ultima but 3 weaker in magic. for dual weilding its great, but by itself i tihnk its close to worthless.
i didnt use it as my main weapon either, even though i didnt use magic that often, if i did have it as my main weapon, it would affect my magnega/thundaga ultimate combo. Besides, if you get that, in my mind, dual weild it to your valor form, 2 best attack keyblades if you have that and the ultimate weapon as well
Well to be honest I havent really tried to take him on very much. I just got angry that he beated me all the time even if I was close some times. And I really doesnt care about te sidequests very much. Even if theyre sometimes really funny. And I doesnt use magic very much. Actually I nearley doesnt use it at all. Even if it sometimes is good I want to be more of a slice and dice person.
I always went back and used the weaker keybladers after I collected them all. Luna is right, Fennir basically stinks. It is good if you are a strictly beat down type which I usually am when I first played but then I go back and try and incorporate magic attacks into my strategy, then the Fennir stinks.

Ya, in CoM, sora loses his memorie of the oblivion castle and namine, and at the end of CoM they write down to thank namine, and the go in the sleep camber, and in #2, they read that note and sora has no clue who that is, so it all falls in place! lol :]
